I am pleased with how much progress I've gotten on getting our house ready for the Bouncy House Party. It's a ton of work and I think I skipped it last year. I planted one of the 5x5 beds with strawberries today.  It was Small Boy's idea.  There are seven beds in that garden and I've got two of them in peas, one in asparagus, one will be potatoes, one tomatoes, and one green beans.   I usually do a bed of melon and a bed of edamame, but the family is mostly eating peas these days and melon doesn't do ( Read more... )

I have spent nearly zero time in the garden so far this year, just a bit of planting of peas and lettuce and turnips around April 15th.  They're up, mostly (only one lettuce exists) but the gardens are still full of leeks and swiss chard and arugula that overwintered plus whatever has volunteered so far this year.
